Biography

François Langlois migrated from France to Acadia.

François Langlois was born in Paris around 1680, son of Gilles, master gold- (or silver)smith & Antoinette MURI. He married (Port-Royal Register) 8 Mar 1707 to Magdelaine Comau, daughter of Pierre l'ainé & Jeanne Bourg.^[1][2] twelve children. He was a navigator. ^[3]On the 1762 (LaRoque) census, age 72 years; Francois LANGLOIS, age 42 [sic], native of Paris, a settler in the colony [Isle Royale] for 30 years, married to Madeleine COMMEAU, native of Port Royal, age 65 years; one son, Joseph age 18, is living with them. ^[4]

He lived also at Port-Toulouse; in 1752 he was at Ile Madame at Cap-Breton. ^[5]
