Biography

Thomas Langhorne was a son of Richard Langhorne, apothecary of London, and his wife Dorothy Legatt. He was baptised at St Albans Church on 9 July 1629. [1]

Thomas was living in London as of 1687. The name of his wife is not known. He had a son Thomas living as of 1685. [2]

He appears to have been associated with his brother Richard in his legal business, whereby the papers in his office were searched during the time that Richard Langhorne was under arrest concerning the Popish Plot. [3] [4] His son Thomas was also serving his uncle Richard Langhorne as "clerk to him at the time of his commitment, whereby petitioner lost his employment: having four children ..." (as of 16 July 1685) [5]

He may have been the Mr Thomas Langhorn who was buried 23 February 1688/9 at St Benet Pauls Wharf, London, [6] but it is also possible that this might have been Thomas Langhorne.
