Mrs. Anna Merchant, 83, an Owatonna resident for many years, passed away Memorial Day(May 31, 1968) at the Owatonna Rest Home, where she had been a guest for the past two months. She was the widow of Wilford (Bill) Merchant, printer in Janesville and Owatonna and local band leader for many years preceding his death in January, 1951.

Following his death she moved to Rochester where she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Walter T. (Edith) Bruzek at 310 6th Ave. NW, until coming to the Nursing Home here a short time ago.

Surviving are two sons, Ralph Merchant of Tyler, Minn. and John of Eureka, Cal.; and three daughters, Mrs. Bruzek, Mrs. Hershel (Lucille Storms) of Great Falls, Mont.; and Mrs. Lloyd (Margaret) Fox of Green Bay, Wis. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. M.A. Bierman of Minneapolis.

Services Monday will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church where Mass for the Dead will be sung at 10:30 o'clock with interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brick Funeral Home on Austin Rd. after 3 o'clock Sunday, with Rosary to be recited there at 8 that evening.
