James was born in 1834 or 1835, in Wilson Co., Tennessee.

1850: living in Calloway Co., Kentucky with parents & siblings.[1]
Age is given as 18, but other records indicate that is incorrect.

1858: August 16, married Margaret Sicoria Burns in Old Reynoldsburg, Johnson Co., Illinois.

1859: July 25, birth of first child, Joseph Thomas. October 20, Joseph dies.

1860: living in Johnson Co. (post-office Vienna). Age 26.[2]

1861: birth of son William Goin.

1862: August 22, enrolled in 120th IL Volunteers, Co. G. Age 27, carpenter, 6'1", light hair, hazel eyes, light complexion. Inducted as a corporal. Born Feb. 22, 1834 in Wilson Co., Tennessee. October 29, mustered into service at Ft. Butler. November 11, birth of son James Bandy.

1865: September 10, mustered out of military. Had been promoted to 1st Sgt.

1866: October 1, birth of first daughter, Elzoria Jane.

1867: March 12, birth of daughter Harriet.

1869: birth of son Edward Burns.

1870: living in Johnson Co. (post-office Reynoldsburg), carpenter, age 36.[3]

1871: June 27, birth of daughter Lenorah Bell.

1873: March 9, birth of daughter Sidney Jane.

1878: June 23, birth of son Fred Burton.

1880: living in New Burnside, Johnson Co. Carpenter, age 45.[4] February 9, birth of daughter Dely Ann. November 15, Dely Ann dies.

1890: May 5, death of son James Bandy.

1895: March 9, death of daughter Sidney Jane in Texas.

1900: living in Jerseyville, Johnson Co. Farmer. Birthdate given as February, 1835.[5]

1910: living in Burnside, Johnson Co. Age 75, farmer.[6]

1918: April 18, death of daughter Harriet.

1920: living in Creal Springs, Williamson Co., Illinois. Age 84.[7]

1921: July 6, died in Creal Springs. July 7, buried in Zion Cemetery, Pope Co., Illinois.
