Biography

Birth and Parents

Edmund de Lacy, Knt, hereditary Constable of Chester, was sometimes called Earl of Lincoln, by courtesy, King's esquire. He was son and heir by his father John de lacy's second marriage, said to have been born in 1230, and was a minor at his father's death. ^[1]

Marriage to Alasia Di Saluzzo

At Woodstock early in May 1247 he married Alice (or Alasia) di Saluzzo, daughter of Manfredo III, Marquis of Saluzzo, by Beatrice, daugter of Amedee (or Amedeo) IC, Count of Savoy, Marquis in Italy. ^[1]

Sir Edmund de Lacy, 8th Earl of Lincoln was born in 1230 at of Pontefract, Yorkshire, England, a minor at his father's death. He married Alisia de Saluzzo, daughter of Manfredo III, Marquis de Saluzzo and Beatrice of Savoy, in May 1247 at Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England; Married early in May.

Death

Sir Edmund de Lacy died testate 2 June 1258. His body was buried at Stanlaw Abbey; his heart in the church of the Black Friars, Pontefract, Yorkshire. ^[1]
