Hi Shirley,

We have a process for handling an Unresponsive Process Mangers. See here: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unresponsive_Profile_Managers#Procedure. Thanks!

Hi Shirley,

Nope, you don't want to create a new profile and then merge with the line you want to connect with. You can make direct contact with the profile manager of the profile you want to connect to (chances are good you are related!). You can also request to be added to the Trusted List of the profile you want to connect to. Once you've been added to that you'd be able to make the profile connection.

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Wow Shirley, that is great about the Oregon Trail clock. I found out I had 6 ancestors who came over the Oregon Trail and I will be happy to give you details on how that unfolded if you'd like.

We have just started an Oregon Trail Category, and will be adding more links soon.

If there is enough interest, we begin an Oregon Trail Project.

WikiTree is always moving forward.

So happy to welcome you here!

Hi Shirley,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

Got hooked on family history when we discovered my husband's family surname was changed from Youngblood to McNeil. Finding out the reason why, and discovering we had a bunch of family we didn't know existed was the driving force behind the research.

Love the idea of a single tree being assembled, with free access for all. Am willing to add what I have, and give help where needed. Shirley (LaFever) McNeil aka Youngblood

Hi again, I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'

Feel free to ask a question at our G2G forum , and our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.

If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment, here on your profile, about how you plan to contribute to the tree.
