Sueko (Kunitomi) Embrey was a part of the Inclusion of the history of the Japanese American incarceration in education Movement.

Japanese internee in WWII, teacher, activist, and long-time chair of the Manzanar Committee, which established the annual Manzanar pilgrimage and obtained National Historic Site status for the former concentration camp

Sueko was born in 1923. After the eviction of Japanese Americans from the West Coast, she was incarcerated at Manzanar. She later advocated for an inclusion of the history of Japanese American incarceration in grade school and college classrooms. She attended the first Manzanar pilgrimage and spoke publicly about her wartime experiences. She co-founded the Manzanar Committee and later became chair of the Committee, organizied the annual pilgrimage for thirty-six years, and led the campaign to have Manzanar dedicated as a California historic landmark in 1972 and as a National Historic Site in 1992. She worked with the National Park Service to develop the interpretive site.

She passed away in 2006.
