Biography

Sjoerd was born on March 15, 1890 in Hogebeintum, Friesland, Netherlands.. He was the son of Jan Krol and Lutske de Vries.^[1]

Sjoerd married Trijntje Wiersma (born in Oppenhuizen, 22 years old) on January 27, 1912 in Wijmbritseradeel.^[2]

Sjoerd, Trijntje, and their 2 children immigrated to the USA in 1914, arriving at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS Noordam. Final destination was Springfield, South Dakota.^[3] They had 5 more children in America.^[4]

Stuart passed away on 18 Apr 1923 in Bon Homme County, South Dakota and was buried at Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion, Clay County, South Dakota.^[5]
