Phyllis Evangeline was born in November 1945 in St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon . Phyllis's twin was Niel Kieger. She was the daughter of Roy Krieger and Hilda Rucks who farmed southeast of Esk, Saskatchewan. She attended Bieberdorf and Esk Schools and Lanigan High School. She worked in Humboldt, Viscount, Lanigan and Saskatoon in cafes and grocery stores. Working in Viscount gave her the opportunity to play ladies' softball which led her being on the Saskatoon Imperials team. They won the Provincial and Canadian championships in about 1970.
Phyllis trained as a hairdresser and worked in Jansen and Saskatoon in her own shops. She married Cornelius Lobbes (1943-2019). Phyllis passed away in May 2013 and was buried in Esk Lutheran Cemetery.
