James was born in 1852 in North Carolina. James was the son of Barlow (or Briskar) Finney and Sallie Koger.
James (age 23), son of Barlow Finney & Sallie Koger, married Maggie B Graves on 14 March 1882 in Caswell, North Carolina, United States.[1]
In the 1900 census James (age 45), Merchant, was the married head of household in Reidsville, Rockingham, North Carolina. He was living with wife Maggie and 6 children.[2]
James died on 9 May 1914 and was buried in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States.[3][4]
