Birth

No record has been found of the birth of Prudence Knox, the second wife of Luke Goding. In the 1850 Census, Prudence Goding is shown as 41 years old, born in Maine.^[1] The 1928 history of Livermore, Maine, says that she was the sister of a Jeremiah Knox.^[2] It is possible that she was a daughter of Jeremiah Knox and Molly (Hanscomb) Knox, who were living at Livemore, Maine, in 1820, in a household that included two females under 10 years old.^[3]

Marriage

Prudence Knox married Luke Goding, as his second wife, at Jay, Maine, on 23 Nov 1834.^[4]

Children

Prudence (Knox) Goding was the mother of seven known children, born between about 1836 and about 1852, and they are the last seven listed in the "Children" section of her husband's profile.

Death

No record has been found of the death of Prudence (Knox) Goding. In 1855, she was living with her husband and children at Watertown, Massachusetts,^[5] and that is the last record found of her. In 1870, Luke was living with his son Elbridge (from his first marriage) at Jay, Maine, and Prudence is not shown in the household, so she had almost certainly died by then.^[6]
