Biography

Albert Knaack was born on 15 Jun 1876, ^[1] The son of Carl and Caroline (Thiede) Knaack.

In 1880 he was four years old and living with his parents and ten siblings in Addison, DuPage, Illinois. ^[2]

In 1900 he was a farm laborer, living with Fred W Landmeier and his family in Elk Grove, Cook, Illinois. ^[3]

He married Lizzie Franzen on 30 Oct 1902 in DuPage County, Illinois. ^[4]

In 1910 Albert and Lizzie were living in Addison Township, DuPage, Illinois with their five year old daughter Florence and a hired man. Albert was a farmer and they rented the farm. ^[5]

In 1920 the family was still living in Addison Township in a home they owned without a mortgage. Albert was still a farmer, and 14 year old Florence had attended school in the previous year. ^[6]

In 1930 Albert and Lizzie were still living on a farm in Addison Township, where Albert farmed. They did not own a radio set. ^[7]

On 1 APR 1940 Albert was still farming, and heand Lizzie were still living on the farm in Addison Township, in the same house where they lived in 1935. They daughter Florence lived with them, as well as her husband August Wolff. August worked in the storage room of an auto garage, and had earned $1300 in the previous year. Florence's seven year old daughter from a previous marriage also lived with them. Florence and her daughter had also lived in the house in 1935 (but August was living in Bensenville). ^[8]

Lizzie died in 1948. ^[9] In 1950, Albert was a 73 year old widowed farmer, living in Addison with Florence, August, and Florence's 17 year old daughter. ^[10]

Albert died on 7 Oct 1952 ^[9] and was buried at St John's Cemetery in Bensenville, DuPage, Illinois. Her grave was relocated in the early 2010's due to the expansion of O'Hare Airport to Eden Memorial Park in Schiller Park, Cook, Illinois. ^[11]
