Biography

William was born in 1790. He was the son of James Kitchen and Jane Patterson. He passed away in 1868. ^[1]

William Kitchen was the founder of Yancey, later named Yancy Mills, Missouri of Phelps County, Missouri.

He was a colonel in the War of 1812, and while in Kentucky was a member of the State Militia. He was a tailor by trade. His wife, Margaret Kitchen, also died in this county.
