Biography

Oliver Kirk was born in 1884 in Beatrice, Nebraska. He was the son of Samuel Kirk and Bertha Razey.[1] Oliver was a boxer and competed in the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis, Missouri in the featherweight and bantamweight divisions. Oliver was the first boxer in Olympic history to win gold medals in two weight divisions at the same Olympics. He accomplished this feat by losing 10 pounds in less than two weeks in between competitions.[2]
