Biography

Nehemiah Stephens Kingdon was born on 8 May 1838 in St Tudy, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, son of Johnathan Ford Kingdon (1810–1890) and Mary Stephens (1815–1884).[1] [2] He was baptized on 3 May 1838 in St Tudy, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.[1] [3]

In 1841, Nehemiah (3) was living in St Tudy, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. [4]

In 1851, Nehemiah (12) grandson, Scholar, was in the household of William Stephens (72) in St Kew in Bodmin registration district in Cornwall, England. [5]

Nehemiah (23) married Mary Grose Webber (28) (born on 20 January 1833 in St Kew, Cornwall, England) in 1862 in Bodmin, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom.[6] Their children were:

Nehemiah was a passenger leaving London, England on 30 September 1865 on the Mermaid and arrived Lyttelton, Canterbury on 1 January 1866.[15]

Nehemiah died on 28 April 1905 in Gore, Southland, New Zealand, aged 66 recorded as Jeremiah Stevens Kingdon.[16] He was buried in Gore Cemetery, Gore, Gore District, Southland.[17]

Nehemiah's estate passed probate in 1905 in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[18]
