James King was born in Appalachia, in Tennessee.

James was born in January 1845 in Bradley County, Tennessee. [1] He was the son of Samuel King and Susan Real. He passed away 27 May 1914 in Welaka, Putnam County, Florida. He was interred in Gum Creek Cemetery Putnam County, Florida. [1]
