Sad Death (1925, January 21). Lachlander and Condobolin and Western Districts Recorder (NSW : 1899 - 1952), p. 4. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article213515872 Sad Death MRS GORDON ROWLEY Seldom has the whole district received such a shock as that caused by the death of the above named well known and highly respected resident of "Koyuna', West Milby. We learn that Mrs Rowley went into Condobolin hospital several weeks ago and remained about two days. The medical officer, Dr Fitzsimmons, recommended an operation, but regarded it too serious for one doctor to undertake. Mrs Rowley went on to Parkes and a few weeks after underwent the operation, with the result that she died two days after, last Friday morning. Next, morning the body was brought to Condobolin and placed in the Presbyterian Church, The funeral procession, one of the largest ever seen in Condobolin, left the church at 4 pm. The usual service was first held, and the Rev W L Arnold paid eloquent tribute to the fine qualities of the deceased lady. Mrs Rowley was born at Lyndhurst 37 years ago. She was the second eldest daughter, of Mr and Mrs Kind, who are among the oldest and most respected of the Carcoar district. She was married in the Presbyterian Church, Forbes, some 13 years ago. Everyone knows what a keen interest she took in all local events and how her help was ever available in all works of charity.A fine type of woman, of exceptionally kind disposition, she grew in popularity till it could be safely said no person of her acquaintance could utter an unkind word of her. The large attendance at the graveside and the manifest grief are a sure tribute of the esteem in which she was held.A good wife and devoted mother, a sorrowing husband and two sons (12 and 7 respectively) are left to mourn their sad loss. To these and other bereaved ones we tender our sincerest sympathy.
