Isaac (Kimbrough) Rozier is a part of US Black heritage.
Isaac was born enslaved about 1848. He was the son of Charles Kimbrough and Antonett Kimbrough who were enslaved before him. After Slavery ending in 1865 [1] during the reconstruction period he married Amanda Phillips. [2] We find the family living in Harris County, Georgia. [3]
Isaac passed away in 1927 and was laid to rest at Riverdale Cemetery in Columbus, GA. [4][5]
↑The 13th Amendment, adopted on December 18, 1865, officially abolished slavery, but freed Black peoples' status in the post-war South remained precarious, and significant challenges awaited during the Reconstruction period.
