KIERNAN-HARRISON. A quiet but very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. John's Catholic Church, Heidelberg, by the Rev. Father McKenna, on Wednesday, January 29, the contracting parties being Mr. Esmond Kiernan, of Kiernan and Co., Bridge road, Richmond, and Smith-street, Col lingwood, and Miss Eileen Harrison, the eldest daughter of Constable and Mrs Harrison, of Ivanhoe. The bride, who was given away by her father, was smartly dressed in a cream cloth cos tume, hat to match, and carried a white prayer book. She was attended by her sister, Miss Madge Harrison, who was diessed in a pretty asam costume, with hat and gloves to match. Mr Farrell Kiernan, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The happy couple left by express for Sydney, where they will spend a week, after which they intend taking the steamer Ventura for America, where the honeymoon is to be spent, Many valuable presents and cheques were received, The members of St. John's choir, of which the bride was organist for some years, made a present of a silver entree dish, suitably inscribed.[1]

On his honeymoon trip to Europe he bought a movie camera. I have video of a market day in a town in northern Italy, a family wedding and the Collingwood Football Club provided to me by his son Peter Kiernan.

His gravestone in the Melbourne General Cemetery shows several incorrect dates.
