Biography
Birth dates are all over the place for James. His obituary says born 23 Jan 1883 in Ireland; 1915 NJ Census says born Feb 1871 in New Jersey. 1900 US Census says born May 1872 in New York. 1910 US Census estimates born 1872 in New Jersey. 1920 US Census estimates born 1875 in New Jersey. His headstone in picture on Findagrave.com shows born 1874.
My best guess is Jan 23 1883 was too specific to ignore. Maybe erred on decade...should be 1873? Most census answered as born in NJ so I went with that. Headstone may have rounded up date from 1873 to 1874. If info is found from parents this should be changed accordingly.
