Biography
"The Kennedys of Knockgray claim to be descended from the old Celtic thanes who ruled over Carrick, when that district formed a portion of Galloway. Knockgray, in the Stewartry, was purchased by the Rev. Alexander Kennedy, minister of Straiton, born 1663."[1]
