John "Kanga" Kennedy was an Australian Rules Footballer who played for Hawthorn Football Club, and also coached Hawthorn and North Melbourne Football Clubs in the Victorian Football League (VFL). As coach, he took Hawthorn to premierships in 1961, 1971, and 1976.
He was an inaugural inductee into the Australian Football Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2020, John Kennedy Sr. became the 29th legend of the Australian Football Hall of Fame.
John was born in 1928. He passed away in 2020.
