James was born on 8 May 1929. He was the son of William Burder Keahey and Lizzie Horn.^[1]

In 1935 according to 1940 census James (age about 5) was living in Rural, Marion, Tennessee.^[3]

In the 1940 census James (age 10) was living in Civil D 2, Marion, Tennessee, USA.^[3]

James died at the age of 27 on 21 June 1956 and was buried in Jasper, Marion County, Tennessee, United States of America.^[1]
