Margaret Menzies Kay (married name Steers) was born 1897 in Scotland, the daughter of Margaret Menzies and John Kay.^[1][2]

In 1913, Margaret, age listed as 16, emigrated with parents John and Margaret, and siblings Jessie, Mary, John, and Master W. on the "Port Macquarie" in 1913.^[3]

She married Samuel Steers on 9 August 1917 in Ivanhoe, Victoria, Australia.^[4] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
