Biography

Mortimer was born in 1904. He was the son of Edward Kassell and Rose Meyers.[1] He married

  1. Marion Harris (m. bef. 1930,[2][3] div. bef. 1950)[4]
  2. Minette Latts (m. 1971)[5][6]

Mortimer died in 2002.[7][8] He was buried at Ferncliff Cemetery and Mausoleum in Hartsdale, New York.[9]

Obituary

KASSELL-Mortimer M. Died June 2, 2002, at his home in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Age 97. Graduate of CCNY 1926 and Columbia Law School 1929. Former Deputy Commissioner and Counsel, Department of Taxation and Finance, State of New York, 1937-1959. Beloved husband of the late Minette Berman Kassell. Survived by daughters Nancy Kassell of Brookline, MA, Susan Kassell of Potomac, MD, and Wendeen Eolis of New York City; and by five grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.[10]
