We are happy you came back to the Northwest Terriers for April's Connect-a-thon. As of this writing, you have contributed 8 profiles. Join us on the Discord channel or the G2G Team Chat page for any questions, comments, or just for fun chatting.
Remember, you must have at least one valid source for each profile you create. The source is the identification of where you obtained information. A family tree is not a source.
See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources for the methods used for sourcing if needed.
Scoring results can be found here.
Thanks for your help!!

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a while now, I thought I would stop by to see how you are getting on with the site.
Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions? Let me know if you need any tips to help you get more of your family members added.

P.S. It is very tempting to race through the process of adding people to WikiTree, but please take your time. Finish one profile - adding locations (including countries), dates, and at least one real source - before moving to the next profile. And if you need help finding reliable information for your family members? The easiest way to find info and sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. Use your WikiTree login to access over 20 websites. Once you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation info and add it to the profile. Learn more about sources here.
Thank you for upgrading. I am pleased to welcome you as a member of the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world’s trees together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
Please add as much information as you can, with sources, as it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Thank you for adding your DNA to WikiTree. Getting the Best from DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
Have fun collaborating on your ancestors!

Thanks for your help.
Tommy is off duty and I saw your message regarding your sources not showing up. You were missing the backslash at the end of the inline ref statement. </ref> I corrected it.

I uploaded a copy of my grandfather's death certificate. When it asked for date, I didn't know whether to put the date of the "event" or the date of the "Certificate". What is usually done? Janet

Thank you for your kind note. I was wondering if GEDcom is the best way to start entering information into wikitree. Janet
There are at least two opinions on the subject. One is to enter each profile individually so you have the correct dates and sources entered the first time. When you enter a profile, Wikitree checks for duplicates. The other is to upload a Gedcom file and that will have you compare each person with profiles that may already be on Wikitree so as not to duplicate them. When you upload a Gedcom file, a lot of extraneous junk tends to come with it and it doesn't make a clean looking profile (in my humble opinion).
There is also the app that a member has made that will take a profile from Familysearch.org or Ancestry.com and add it to an existing profile on Wikitree. or create a new profile. I, personally, like the source citations from Familysearch.org better than Ancestry.com so I use FS more. Besides, Familysearch.org is a free site, where Ancestry.com is a paid site.
If you want to communicate with cousins or others about genealogy (whether or not you want to add profiles on our single family tree, you can upgrade at no cost to the Family Member level at any time by adding your genealogy communication preferences.
