A MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

A very pleasant event took place at the home of Mrs. Annie Shirey on the Shirey homestead in Girard township, Clearfield county, at which time all of her sons and daughters together with their famili8es met to help celebrate their mother's birthday and also Mother's Day.

Mrs. Shirey was 67 years of age on Friday, May 17th, and has lived practically all of her life in Girard township.

After the usual greetings a picnic dinner was served. Every one expressed themselves as having enjoyed their visit and wished Mrs. Shirey many more happy birthdays.

The following persons were present: Mrs. Annie Shirey, Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Shirey, son Glenn and daughters Genevieve and Edith; Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Graham, Mrs. Russell Pentz and her sons, Harold and Bruce; Mr. and Mrs. Ai Shirey, sons Clifford, Floyd, Raymond, Kenneth, and Edward and daughter Freda; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dixon, sons Herman, Blair, and Paul and daughters Viola and Anna; Norman Shirey and sons Russell and James; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Shirey; Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Shirey and sons John and Ai, and daughter Eva; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Shirey, son Carleton and daughter Anna Mae; Thomas Shirey; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Leigey, sons Raymond, Milton and Elwood, and daughters Mabel, Elma and Lottie Bernice; Mose Leigey, Russell Buck and Iva Senior.

ANNA E SHIREY

Mrs. Anna E. Shirey, 77, life-long and well-known Girard Township resident, died at her home near LeContes Mills yesterday (Thursday) morning at 7:30 o'clock. Death was the result of a stroke sufferedfive years ago and which left Mrs. Shirey a bedfast cripple up until the time of her death.

Her husband, Ferd F Shirey, died 16 years ago and she is survived by the following children: Mrs. L. L. Graham of Clearfield, Elzie Shirey of Surveyor, Ai Shirey of Lewistown, Raymond and Norman Shirey of Clearfield, Jesse and Boyd Shirey of Lecontes Mills, and Mrs. Howard Dizon, Mrs. Elmer Leigey and Thomas Shirey, also of Lecontes Mills.

Funeral services will be held at the late home in Girard Township on Sunday afternoon, August 30, at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Congress Hill Cemetery.
