Hello Daniel,

We are doing our annual check-in for the Profile Improvement Project. Since you have been inactive for greater than six months, we have removed your badge for the project. If you would like to rejoin the project when you return, please visit the project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Profile_Improvement.

Hi Daniel! Hope you are well. We haven't heard back from you regarding the Scotland Project check-in. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you soon.

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi Daniel

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. It normally takes 24 hours from adding a test, or adding a new ancestor, or ancestor’s descendant, for WikiTree to display your name and test results on your ancestors and their descendants’ profiles for potential cousins to compare results with.

Have fun!

Hi Daniel,

Could you please change the name in the sticker to Duncan Clan? The category is being renamed to distinguish Clans from Families. Thanks, Natalie, Categorization

Hi Dan,

I notice that you have been away from WikiTree for a while. Hope all is well with you.

I edited the profile of James Augustus Junkins, adding more details to the sources as well as providing an example of an inline source and how to use a research note. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about what I did.

Hi Dan,

I noticed that one of your profiles, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rodriguez-5600 was listed as "unsouced" even though you have listed several sources. That can be annoying. To clear it, I added a couple of sources, took off the "Unsourced" designation and am attaching a link that might help you moving forward. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources

A lot of the time, I look on FamilySearch.org, which is free. If I find a good source, I look for the "Citing this source" box, copy and paste the contents into the Sources section on WikiTree. Start it with an asterick * so that it stands out.

I hope this helps,

Hi Dan

As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the How-to been helpful or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

I'm pleased to see you adding new profiles to WikiTree. It's really helpful if there's enough information on a page that another person can find the source if there are any questions about the profile. You might try looking at this page about entering sources:

Hello, Dan,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Based on your Tags, the Scottish Clans Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to review other possibilities. Read the goals and tasks of the projects and join those which are a good fit.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Thank you for volunteering, Dan!

You are now a full member of the WikiTree community. I hope your experience among us is as enjoyable and fruitful as mine has been.

Start with the New Member How-To pages — they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around.

When you are ready take a look at projects, there may be a One Name Study for your surnames, or one covering your research location(s).

Take your time, and let me know if you need any help using the site.

P.S. If you get error messages when you click links from WikiTree emails, try the links from your profile page.
