Richard Jordan I was a soldier in the Virginia Colonial Militia by Crozier. Richard Jordan I or Richard Jordan II was one of Bacon's Representatives.
On 10 May, 1679, his father, Richard Jordan I, received a grant for 363 acres, Lower Bay Creek/Cypress Creek, and on 3 May, 1687, Richard Jordan II settled and administered the Surry County, Virginia estate of Richard Jordan I: his wife, Alice, maiden name unknown, was named in the will of father Richard Jordan I. The children of Richard Jordan I and his wife, Alice, were Richard, Jr. and John.
Richard Jordan, Jr. 1687 - Richard Jordan Sr., no doubt the son, as his father, Richard Jordan I was deceased, was listed in the Surry County (VA) Militia. When the father is deceased, the son becomes "Sr."

Richard JORDAN of ye Upper pish of Surry Co. in Virga. to Robert CAULFIELD of the County aforesaid for 43 lbs. of Tobc. and caske conveys land scittuated on the south west side of a branch of ye blackwater in the lower pish of Surry County being part of a Pattent for 600 acres formerly Granted to George BLOW late of aforesaid Co. decd. & being all ye sd. BLOW held on ye side the branch aforesaid was by him sold to John BYNHAM and by yd sd. Richard Jordan, Sr., decd. Will of; dated 24 Sept. 1695. To son Richard "what land & estate I have to bestow on him after my death a breeding sow, hee being in possession of the sd. land in my life time". Son Charles, a parcell of land which I now live on being divided by a row of marked trees the lower part it to him and lawfull heir of his body forever, alsoe all my working tools. Son Robert, plantation and land I doe now live on that is to say the upper part of that line after the death of my wife to him & the lawfull heirs of his body, if either of my sons Charles or Robert dye without issue, land shall goe to the longest liver heir and if it shall soe happen that they both dye without issue the sd. land to bee equally divided between my three youngest daughters or the longest liver of the three. Daughter Rachell, one ewe and lamb, one linnen wheel and one woolen wheel. Daughter Elizabeth Fort one breeding sow. Daughter Margarett House one breeding sow. Hannah one ewe & Lamb. Daughter Mary, one ewe and Lamb. Daughter Sarah one ewe & Lamb. "That my three youngest daughters have the three sheepe when they shall attaine the age of sixteen and my will and desire is that the increase of those sheepe shall run untill my daughters attaine the age of sixteen years." My wife sole Executrix and to sd. wife all my goods and chattles with all other of my estate not already given and bequeathed paying and discharging all my just debts and my will is that my wife shall enjoy my plantation during her natural life and my will and meaning is that there shall not bee any waste made by selling of any timber off the land but that houses and fences shall be kept in good repaire and the orchard to bee kept within a sufficient fence and likewise my will is that my son Charles shall dwell with and work for his mother untill he shall attaine the age of 20 years and then to be possessed of the aforesd. land which is given him but if my wife dye before then my will is that hee shall enjoy the land given him at my wife's death, and my will is that my son Robert shall dwell and make (work?) for his mother untill he shall attaine the age of 18 years and if it shall happen that my wife shall dye before my desire is that my son Robert may bee placed out untill the age of 16 years and my will is that the rest of my plantation may be imployed to the maintenance of my three youngest daughters untill my son Robert shall attaine the age of one and twenty years" My trusty and well beloved friends Josiah PROCTOR and John Fort to bee overseers of will.
