Captain Jack Jones was Killed in Action over Romania in Operation Tidal Wave during World War II.
Jack was born 23 September 1918 in Washington, Louisiana.
He was killed in action when the B-24 bomber, Exterminator, crashed following a mid-air collision over Bulgaria while returning from Ploesti, Romania during Operation Tidal Wave on 1 August 1943. Jack was a mission observer on the bomber. He was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the mission.
