Gertrude Ethel Jones was born on 29 April 1883 in Maidstone, Essex, Ontario, Canada, daughter of Albert Edward Jones and Isabella Bell Rush.^[1]

In 1891, Gertrude and her mother and brother were living in her maternal grandfather's home in Essex Centre, Essex South, Ontario.^[2]

Gertrude died on 18 February 1937 in Seattle, King, Washington.^[3]
