The US National Archives has hospital muster roll cards for a Harriet Broad assigned to Judiciary Square Hospital in Washington, D.C. from July 1864 to April 1865.
There is a pension index card for Harriet Broad on FamilySearch which indicates her pension was applied for in 1892 from Illinois, and it lists an application number 1131172 and a certificate number 843774 for her pension.
From census records, it seems she was born in Columbia County, NY to John and Nancy Broad in October 1817. By 1860, Harriet was residing in Cayuga County, New York with her widowed mother, Nancy.
She had a brother Horatio Nelson Broad, b.1817 New York, who served in Company C, 75th NY INF. In the 1880 US Census, Harriet and Horatio are residing with their sister Maria Broad/Smith in Chicago.
From Chicago, IL death records, it seems that Harriet died in Chicago, IL on 20 April 1909 and Horatio died on 14 June 1895.
I don't need copies of the file, just an affirmation or denial that the Fold3 pension records agree with data mentioned above.
Enjoy Genealogy, Warren Kuntz
We are happy you came back to the Northwest Terriers for April's Connect-a-thon. It's going to be a fun 3 days. Join us on the Discord channel or the G2G Team Chat page for any questions, comments, or just for fun chatting.
Remember, you must have at least one valid source for each profile you create. The source is the identification of where you obtained information. A family tree is not a source.
See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Sources for the methods used for sourcing if needed.

Also, I moved William and Noah to be children of Elijah at FamilySearch.
The US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart
A large number of exact duplicate US Civil War profiles popped up this week's DBE 585 report. Many were created by you or appear to be in collaboration with Ron Floyd. Unfortunately they've all been orphaned so I can't propose a merge on them to alert you two the usual way, otherwise it'd make me manually merge them all by hand myself.
Could you take a look at these first 21 profiles I came across and merge the duplicates with Ron? (Let me know if I typo'd any of these IDs.) I'll let you know if I find additional ones.
Jeff
Many thanks, Kind regards, Margaret, Categorization project.

Way to go!!!

Thank you for all the help you have given Gail Bice and me in our attempts to figure out where my great grandmother and her brothers and sisters came from. The sparse family story didn't make a lot of sense, but it made even less when I started looking deeper, found grand aunts and uncles I never knew existed or had only vague hints of, and then found that all of them were sprung from people I had never heard of. I understand that you have been extremely helpful especially with the military aspects of this endeavor. I will have more to say on this once the final result of the works is available but thank you very much for all your work and expertise.

I haven't determined yet the relationship of Johnson, Sr. to my Turner. They are basically contemporaries. I am not familiar with Johnson, Sr.'s predecessors as stated in Aundra's tree. Some names are familiar to me, but I need to dig some more. I know that Thomas Hampton, Turner's brother, did go to eastern TN. I have worked with other Hampton descendants from Turner's family and I have come to believe that his parents were ( John?) Jacob Hampton and Judith Judah Johnson. Turner also had a son Johnson who was born in 1816 and I have assumed that he had been given his mother's maiden name. So why did Lucinda have a father and a brother named Johnson?
Thanks for posting about Lucinda. It has given me some "umph" to dig some more.

Thank you for being a co-manager of https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:POW%27s_Who_Died_in_Andersonville_Prison hopefully it will get a good response and all the rest of the soldiers will someday have a profile.
Thank you again for all you do for the US Civil War Project and the Challenges.

When I don't have to spend an hour or more researching to find a soldier's relatives, things do go a lot faster.
I had not expected to finish the Es so soon. I was just killing time by doing some of the Br names until the challenge ended. Guess I had better plan on doing a few more. Ha.
I often forget that Union units from Confederate States have additional distinction to note they are not CSA.

The March Challenge will be to create profiles for the Union soldiers who died while POW's in the Andersonville Prison.
The USA and CSA Crossed Flag appears on the sticker automatically, so you don't have to list it. So you can leave regiment flag= | blank, it won't hurt the sticker to not have an entry there.

Thank you Norman for participating in the US Civil War Challenge. You completed 277 profiles during the January Connect-a-Thon. There were 27 of us who signed up for the Challenge, completing 6,480 profiles.
The US Civil War February Challenge will be to create profiles for those soldiers who died during the Battle of Shiloh on the 7th and 8th of April 1862. If you're interested in joining another challenge, check out the US Civil War Challenge Page on February 1st.
Thank you again. Pam
The red categories need to have their category creation completed, preferably with a Cemetery Category Info Box added as content.
Thanks, regards, Margaret, Categorization project volunteer.
Any guidance on what to do next is appreciated.
These two categories, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Lower_Sulphur_Springs_Cemetery%2C_Fort_Payne%2C_DeKalb_County%2C_Alabama AND https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Helveston_Cemetery%2C_Gulfcrest%2C_Mobile_County%2C_Alabama need the Category info box added to add the correct parents, they currently have no parent categories. They also are incorrectly named, they have both town & county in the name, so will need to be renamed.

I Hope you'll join the fun.
We had eight+ members who participated in connecting 45 Generals, only three of the Generals still show they didn't connect beyond the 1st level of family. Norman you won the first Project Challenge Badge, and your choice for the October challenge is connecting more Generals. Thank you again Norman for joining the September Challenge, I hope to see you in the October Challenge. Pam Kreutzer, US Civil War Project Leader
Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Thanks. I am beginning to sort it out. At first it seemed like quite a challenge. Norm
We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
You mentioned that you don’t know much about your family tree yet. I assume you are new to genealogy. No problem! Every genealogist is a beginner at some point. Take your time, keep track of sources, and ask questions. Check here for tips.

This seems to have a steep learning curve. I want to build my family tree. My parents, grandparents and great grandparents are not on here. Do I just create a new profile for each of them in order to link them to me? Thanks, Norman Jones
