Biography

Melvin was born in 1856. He passed away in 1928.^[1] He is the son of Cyrus Jones and Lydia Lingenfelter.^[2]

Research Notes

He likely married a woman named Ida Waterman while he and his family lived in Kansas. It also seems likely that they had three children—Harry, Bertha, and Bessie. I am including sources for these below; please note that Jones is a very common last name, so there is some uncertainty here. On the other hand, Melvin and Ida are more unique first names, so it still seems likely these are correct sources for this person.
