Matilda Jonah was born about 1801 in Hillsborough, Westmorland, New Brunswick, daughter of John James Jonah (1763–1830) and Sarah Reynolds (~1768–>1851).

Mentioned in her father's will in 1830.[1] Birthdate appears to be a wild guess. Matilda was given a token inheritance, far lower that her siblings.
