MR. PERCY JOHNSTONE

Our Sydney representatives telegraphed last evening that the death occurred with tragic suddenness on the Manly ferry boat on Friday afternoon of Mr. Percy Johnstone, who more than ten years was an associate partner with Mr. J. H. Baillie in the proprietary of the "Wagga Express." Death is stated to have been due to Bright's disease.

The late Mr. Johnstone applied himself to the literary side of the "Express." He was a man of very pronounced political views, and a staunch Liberal of those days he spent In Wagga, and was a prominent supporter of the late Mr. Alick Smith, when that gentleman contested the Wagga seat. The deceased also took active interest in the Wagga District Hospital and School of Arts, but In private life was of retiring disposition. The partnership of Balllie and Johnstone was dissolved about ten years ago, when Mr. Johnstone left for Sydney, and in recent years he had been residing at Manly.[3]

He was buried at Manly Cemetery, Manly, New South Wales.[4]
