Colonel in the Swedish and French armies
Lt Col William Johnstone was born 1627 in Dumfries, Dumfriesshire, Scotland, the son of James Johnstone and Margaret Douglas. He was the brother of James Johnstone, Mary (Johnstone) Fletcher, Margaret Johnstone, Janet (Johnstone) Murray, Margaret (Johnstone) Dalzell and Bethia Johnstone.[1]
He died 1656 in Newbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland
