Biography

James Johnston is a member of Clan Johnstone.

James Johnston was born in 1789/90 at Backhill of Castlefraser, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire and baptised on the 20th of March. He was the son of William Johnston and Christian Booth.

James married Elizabeth Bisset in 1812.[1]

In 1841, James was living at the 1841 England, Wales & Scotland Census School House, Midmar, Aberdeenshire, Scotland

Research Notes

There are three baptism listings on Scotlands People for James Johnston. ALL are for the 20th March, but one is 1780,[2] one is 1789[3] and one is changed from 1789 to 1790.[4]
