Could he possibly be the son of this John Johnston?

On another site, he is listed as having been baptized at the Old Macah parish in 1684. On the baptism certificate, the father was listed as John, surname Johnston, and no mother listed. The time, area, and name all fit? John Johnston (abt.1630-)

Otis, this seems possible. I see on your profile that you've completed DNA work with 23andme. What is your Y-Haplogroup? I find my way listed as a DNA match on this line because my earliest known ancestor is Martin Eli Johnson, Sr, but he may be a different one than shown in your tree. I've completed the Y-700 test on Family Tree DNA, which reveals the detailed haplogroup. Let's compare and see what we can learn. My email address is [email address removed] Please drop me a line or reply here if you prefer. Thanks, Brent.
