Hi Kathleen, I love your family photos. Keep up the great work. Carolina Gast Gast-598 has a nice photo on ancestrylibrary.com. I haven't learned to do pictures, but I will learn -sometime. Please put her photo into Gast-598 and thank you in advance. Your Hein, Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany, Gast, Alsace France family is interesting and has relatives in nearby rural Switzerland. My sister married a Hein.

Hi Kathleen,

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details. The Teams are :-

1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora

? Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Maria

Hello, Kathleen. Nice to discover another cousin! Per the Relationship Finder on Wiki, we are 7th cousins once removed and related through Matthew Fairchild's sons, Caleb (your line) and Joseph (My line.)

Hi Kathleen, I was surprised we are related by the Rettig family, rather than the Johnson family. I have found over the years, however, that Rettigs are much easier to connect with than Johnsons. I have a 2nd cousin, Joe Rettig, also descended from Ludwig Rettig, and he lives in Cincinnati, Ohio. I live in Zachary, LA outside of Baton Rouge. My husband and I are from Sikeston, Missouri (S.E. bootheel of Missouri). My husband was transferred down here in 1977, and our daughter married a man from here. I had the pleasure of meeting Joe and his wife and sharing information. I have my documented information on Ancestry.com. I find WikiTree too restrictive. Please visit my "Cline Family Tree of Kentucky." I would love to talk sometime. (225) 788-5999.

We are listed as being connected by DNA. I am related to Johnsons of Southern Illinois in the 1800s. I find Wiki Tree confusing to use but if you are interested we can see how we link I will work on the program. Thank you, Margaret Cline Harmon

Thank you, Kathleen, for your kind words. Actually, I'm just trying to get my tree posted and if I can help someone else along the way, I'm happy to do so. You have already done a great deal of the work on our common ancestors. So Thank YOU for all the help you have been to me as well. I've had an incredible number of helpers my short time on WikiTree. I appreciate every one of them so much!

Hi Kathleen. Thanks for your message on G2G.

I’ve added the Irish Roots Project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Click on Irish Roots Project will take you to the first page of the project. I've added your good self to the member interest page. Here you can let others know which counties or names you are researching etc.

Thanks for joining the project and good luck with your research.

Kathleen, did you join the upcoming Source-a-Thon? You mentioned Georgia, which is part of the "Dixie Darlings" team. You need to first 'answer' (as opposed to comment, which is what you first did) the Source-a-thon post here: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/294873

Once you have a bib #, you can 'answer' this post to join the Dixie Darlings team: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/297613
