TO allow friends to meet their daughter, the Contessa Betty di San Marzano, Lieut.-Col. and Mrs Keatinge Johnson gave a large At Home at Grosvenor, Toorak, on Sunday afternoon. The reception rooms looked charming with their bowls of mixed flowers, and Lieut. Col. and Mrs Johnson, with their daughter, received in the lounge.The Contessa, who is an Australian, and a grand-daughter of the late Mrs Kenric Brodribb, studied art for five years at the Byam Shaw and Vicat Cole School of Art in London, where later she had her own studio. To allow her old friends the privilege of seeing some of her water colors of Italy, the Contesss is holding an exhibition at the International Club Room, Kurrajong House. OBITUARY. Lieut.-Colonel C. A. Keatinge Johnson. The death has occurred in England of Lieut -Colonel C A Keatinge Johnson formerly of the 1st Lancers, Indian Army who sailed with the 1st Expeditionary Force to Egypt as second in command of the 4th Light Horse Lieut. Colonel Johnson joined the Royal Welch Fusiliers in India In 1889. For some years he served with the 1st Bengal Lancers (Skinner's Horse) and fought in the Boxer Rebellion. At the outbreak of the Great War he was living in Australia because of ill-health and volunteered for service with the A.I.F., from which he resigned in 1917. He was cable censor at the War Office until the signing of the Armistice. He was well known as a big game shot and fisherman. He had revisited Australia several times since the war.
