Biography
Russell Alexander Johnson was born on March 3, 1896 in Ashfield Township, Huron, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of John Wesley ("J W") Johnston (1866-1948) and Margaret MacKenzie (1866-1950).[1][2]
In 1900, Russell Johnston (4), was a single son, in the household of John W Johnston (34) in Laurium village, south side, Houghton, Michigan, United States. [3]
In 1911, Russel Johnston, was a single son, in the household of John W Johnston in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. [4]
Russell married Louise Johanna Vogel (born on August 4, 1905 in Calgary, Alberta; daughter of Charles Herman Vogel and Effie Axtell). Their children were:
- Charles Wesley Johnston, 1928-2003
Russell died about November 20, 1983 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, aged about 87. He was buried in Queen's Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, Calgary, Calgary Census Division, Alberta.[5]
