Biography
John Henry Johnson was born on December 25, 1883 in Minnesota, probably in or near Grant County.
He served in World War 1 in Minnesota, as a corporal in a Minnesota Company G in the 40th Infantry, as noted on his gravestone: MINNESOTA CPL CO G 40 INF World War I. [1]
After returning from the war, John married Agnes M Ackerson from Barrett, Minnesota. He ran a hardware store in Elbow Lake, Minnesota.
Late in life, John and Agnes moved to a retirement community in Minneola, Florida. However, he died soon after the move, passing away on November 26, 1959. He is buried in the Minneola Cemetery in Minneola, Lake County, Florida. [2]
