Leonard Johnson was born on 2 May 1910 in Ross County, Ohio, United States of America. He was the son of Christopher Johnson and Grace Anderson and the twin brother of Laura Johnson.^[1][2] Leonard grew up with his family in Jefferson Township, Ross County, Ohio.^[3][4]

Leonard married Jessie Smith on 3 Aug 1935.^[1] In 1940, they lived in Jefferson Township, Ross County, Ohio.^[5] Jessie died in 1977.^[6]

Leonard died on 28 Nov 2003 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio.^[7] He was buried in Caldwell Cemetery, Richmond Dale, Ross County, Ohio.^[8]
