Biography

Albert was born in 1922 in North Carolina. He is the son of Charles Johnson and Elnora Hodge. The 1930 census shows him living in North Carolina with his father and grandparents.^[1]. In 1943, Albert was living New York City, according to his draft card. Interestingly enough, he lists his mailing address as 1547 N. Gratz Street in Philadelphia, which is the same location listed for his brother, Charles' wife and their parents as well. In 1944, he married Miffie DeVaughn in Wilmington, Delaware.

There is no substantiating information to determine where he died. He is listed in his father's obituary as living in the Bronx, New York in 1965.

Albert's brother, Charles B. Johnson, was a Tuskegee Airman who whose plane crashed into the sea off the coast of Corsica in June of 1944. His body has never been recovered.
