Ida was born in 1909. She is the daughter of Samuel Jeter and Mary Upshaw. The family is described as mulatto in the 1910 census.
Listed as Ida C in 1910 census, apparently listed as Corean (middle name?) in the 1920 census. There is a Corrine Jeter (Johnson) of an earlier generation also in Bowling Green, Virginia, she may have been named after her.
