Private Norman Jessop was wounded in action during World War II.
He enlisted in the Army in World War 2 on 20 October 1939 at Keswick Barracks, South Australia He embarked ffor overseas serice on 5 May 1940. He was wounded in action on 11 May 1941 in the Middle East. He had multiple shrapnel and gunshot wounds. He was assessed as Permanently Unfit for Service and returned to Australia.. He was discharged from 2/10th Battalion with the rank of Private on 30 March 1942.[1]

He became engaged in June 1942 and married in August 1943.

MARRIAGE
Another contemplated contribution to the marriage market of former Tatiara association is announced.
It concerns Mr Norman Jessop (late AIF), son of Mr and Mrs F. H. Jessop, of Peake, and Miss Joan Balnaves, of Pompoota, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Balnaves.
The ceremony is dated for tomorrow afternoon at Maughan Church, Adelaide, at 5.30.
Mr Jessop was share-farming in this district for a number of years.

He passed away in 2004. He was buried at Murray Bridge.[2][3]
