Biography

Hanibal Jenkyn married Jane Incledon 1688 on 3 November 1712 at St.Keverne. Hanibal Jenkin of St.Keverne yeoman had a lease at St.Keverne in 1713. The Jenkyn family had been in St.Keverne since the early 1600s. On 26 November 1713 John Sandys of St Keverne gent, John Gilbert, Richard Williams, Anthiny Hoskyn, John Sandys of Pengarrockand others of St Keverne gents assigned tithes of rectoryone third, a tenement in Trenant, a third and a sixth of Chireen Wartha and tithes and tenths of all fish taken & caught within the said year” to Hannibal Jenkyn of S Keverne yeoman. [CRO GR/212] Will of Hanniball Jenkyn of Cardinham yeoman dated 1753 to wife Jane, daughter Elizabeth wife of Hannibal Thomas, son Athanasius, son Hannibal roghts to fishing boats in Porthoustack in St Keverne, salt lying in the said cellar, all implements of fishing whatsoever, daughters Jane, Catherne and Loveday. Mentions tythe of Thomas Jenkyn’s tenement in Trenance. He made sign. Hannibal Jenkyn of Trename in St.Keverne, deceased 15 April 1758.
