Anders Gustaf Jansson was born on September 14, 1817 in Kungsåra parish, Västmanland, Sweden. He was the son of day worker Jan Andersson and Greta Jons/Jönsdotter.[1]
He was a day worker (sv. dagkarl).
He married Anna Persdotter (b. 1806 in Grangärde) on May 26, 1839 in Grangärde. He lived in Abborrberget and she in Ljungåsen at the time before the wedding.[2] They had children Stina Lisa (1839-1845), Johanna b. 1841[3] and Carl (1844-1844).
The family lived first in Ljungåsen[4] and then Nya Prästhyttan in Grangärde from 1839.[5]
Tragedy struck when little Carl died only 5 months old in October 1844 "after much suffering" from cramps[6] and then their oldest daughter passed away in July 1845 from tuberculosis. She was almost 6 years old.[7]
Anders is noted as "sickly" (sv. sjuklig) in the records, and he passed away from tuberculosis on May 9, 1846, only 29 years old leaving his wife and their only surviving child Johanna behind.[8][9]
His estate inventory (bouppteckning) was made on October 13, 1846.[10]
