Peter werd geboren op 26 mei 1823 in Tilburg in Nederland. Hij was de zoon van Francis Jansen en Johanna Cornelia Teurlings.[1]
Op 27 september 1852 trouwde hij in Geertruidenberg met Johanna Catharina Koene.[2] Hun kinderen waren onder andere:

- Louisa Bertha Maria Jansen (1862-1936)
Peter overleed op 7 september 1899 in Tilburg, 76 jaar oud.[3]
