This despite the fact that his father and grand-father (Jan Egberts Vinke) already used the last name of Vinke for a while, starting in 1773 with the marriage of his grandparents [2] and after that the baptism of his father[3] and his siblings. Therefore the last name of Vinke should be considered the correct LNAB and not the patronimic Jans.

Vinke-40 and Jans-6283 appear to represent the same person because: Dear,

All information between these 2 profiles are the same. Gerrit (Jans) Vinke is a direct ancestor, he is my fourth great grandfather.

The difference in LNAB comes from the usage of patronymics. Gerrit his father his name was Jan, there for Gerrit would get the patronymic of Jans. Only later his father Jan would adopt the last name of Vinke, automaticaly giving his already living underaged children this last name as well.
